Why you shouldn’t vote for anyone this election.
To refrain from voting is to use your right to vote, to say that you vote for a different way. A better way. You know they will never listen to the people anyways, always doing what is necessary to get into power, and once they are in, nothing until the next election.
They can make any laws, but they can never make the people obey them unless the people choose to.
If the people have decided that the government is corrupt, there is no moral imperative to obey any laws apart from the obvious, treat each other as you would have yourself treated, try not to cause any unnecessary hurt, and don’t steal stuff.
With regards to laws dictated to the people by the government, if you willfully disavowed yourself from voting, then those laws obviously were not influenced by your opinions and I see no reason, apart from power tripping politicians, why those laws should apply to anyone apart from the makers of those laws.
If you had nothing to do with the laws creation, who can expect you to obey it?
I voted Greens and Labour for every election since I have been old enough to vote.
Through voting for these parties, the dominant majority (along with the Maori Party who I highly respect), I felt I was supporting people who had a similar world view to mine.
Unfortunately, regardless of how I voted, me and every other citizen of New Zealand, have been forced to abide by laws that we don’t agree with, such as the Terrorist Suppression Act 2002, the Mental Health Act 1992 and it’s reforms, and the Misuse of Drugs Act 1969.
It feels to me, like the government is unwilling to listen to it’s people and will continue to do what it percieves to be as best.
It also lies, defrauds the New Zealand people, and worse.
As such, a governmental system that refuses to listen to my vote and the votes of millions of others, is not something tha tshould be cooperated with.
Just as the government refuses to negotiate with terrorists, I suggest that we the people refuse to negotiate with this government that has taken our rights and freedoms away from us.
We have rights in the Bill of Rights, however those are quickly eroded in time of “national emergency”, such as that of the present, with regards to the terrorist thread.
We have the right to refuse medication, until we are mental health acted.
We have the right to privacy, until an officer claims to smell cannabis.
We have the right to freedom of speech, until we incite terrorism.
I am not inciting terrorism, I am merely saying that your vote is pointless, and there is no point trying to change the system from within it, the best way is to refuse to cooperate with it’s petty shenanigans.
I suggest that every vote that is not cast this election, should be taken as a vote for a better system than the one we have presently.
Unfortunately, the current system is afraid of change, afraid of a new and better way, so it will do everything it can to exterminate and destroy those who offer a better way of life.
